Brazilian Cancer Association (Associacao Brasileira do Cancer)

The Brazilian Cancer Association is a non-profit organization, with the mission to inform, educate and mobilize the civil society for cancer prevention, early detection and the reduction of the suffering of those touched by cancer.

Currently our main activities focus on information through the ABCâncer magazine, a bi-monthly publication which reaches approximately 240 thousand people around the country every year, with cancer information written in lay language. Also on that area, there is our website; the website contains information about all types of cancer, treatment centres, patients' rights, etc.

On other fronts, we are developing prevention projects, but have not implemented them as yet, and our biggest project this year is the Relay For Life, which aims to form a cancer community in Brazil, which will enable us to gain critical mass to fight for patient rights.
