LUNG CANCER SYMPTOM CHECKLIST
There are many ways in which lung cancer can be diagnosed. Signs and symptoms may appear suddenly or gradually build up.
Some of the most common symptoms which are linked to lung cancer are;
- coughing
- bloody mucus
- shortness of breath
- pain
- repeated pneumonia or bronchitis
- fatigue
- loss of appetite and weight loss
- hoarseness
- swelling of face and neck
- digital clubbing (i.e. square swelling of the fingertips)
Lung cancer is difficult to diagnose because it can spread to other areas of the body. It is often hard to detect in the lungs and very often it will only be identified once it has spread to other parts of the body.
