The 2008 Lung Cancer Journalism
Awards
Entry Guidelines
Entries will be accepted for the Best Medical Article
in the following media:
Entries will be accepted for the
Best Consumer Article in the following media:
Entries will be accepted for the Best Broadcast
Report in the following media:
- Television
- Radio
- Internet (i.e. internet radio broadcast
or podcast)

Entries
must have been published or broadcast between
1 September 2007 and 1 September 2008, however
articles published prior to 1 September 2007
that are considered by the panel to be exceptional
will also be judged |

Entries
must be received by 5.00pm (GMT)
on 24 October 2008 |
| 3. |
Every
entry must be accompanied by a completed application
form (click to download) |
| 4. |
Entries
are invited from all countries. Non-English entries
should be submitted with an accompanying translation
in English |
| 5. |
The
entry must be original journalism. Medical research
reports, books and general health websites will
not be accepted |
| 6. |
Only
one entry may be submitted by each person |
| 7. |
Multiple-contributor
entries will be accepted. Any collaborators, and
their role, must be stated on the application form.
Collaborators must consent to submission of the
entry by signing the form |
| 8. |
Entries
cannot be submitted on behalf of other authors |
| 9. |
On
the Application Form, please provide a brief description
of the circulation/reach of your news service and
the intended audience |
| 10. |
The
judges decision is final and no correspondence
will be entered into |
| 11. |
The
organisers may seek permission to display entries |
| 12. |
The
winners will be announced on the GLCC website www.lungcancerjournalism.org |
Submitting an Entry
Print and internet submissions must be provided
with a completed application form, two copies of
the publication/web page with the relevant article
highlighted (original copies preferred although not
essential). Non-English submissions should be provided
with a translation in English. Please provide a print
version and an electronic version on CD-Rom (and
not on floppy disk)
Broadcast Film
submissions must
be provided with the application form and two DVD
copies of the whole broadcast with the relevant section
noted. If a film transcript is available, please
provide a print version and an electronic version
on disk or CD-Rom. Non-English film submissions should
be provided with an English language transcript.
Radio submissions must
be provided with the application form and two audio
CDs or MP3 files of the whole broadcast with
the relevant section noted. If a broadcast transcript
is available, please provide a print version and an
electronic version on disk or CD-rom. Non-English radio
submissions should be provided with an English language
transcript.
