JUDGING
PROCESS
Each entry will be reviewed by an independent
panel comprising a leading health journalist from a respected
cancer publication, an international lung cancer specialist,
representatives from the Global Lung Cancer Coalition and
International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and
importantly, a patient who has been touched by the disease.
Judges will look for outstanding examples of reporting on
lung cancer. Award entries will be judged on the following:
- interest / creativity / innovation
- significance for the target audience
- impact (influencing viewpoints, changing
perceptions or leaving a lasting impression on the individual
reader)
- accuracy
- evident research
- writing excellence
For the Best Medical Article category, in addition
to the above criteria, judges will also be looking out for
articles which target a wider medical community audience
not just lung cancer specialists and which also discuss a
holistic approach to patient care.
Please note that judges will not be accepting
peer reviewed articles in peer reviewed journals in the Medical
Award category this year.
