FairLife Lung Cancer Care holds its 5th annual conference titled “Lung Cancer – From Prevention to Holistic Care – Bridging Science and  Society – Centering on Life on 26 November 2025, 09:30 to 20:00 at the Atraktos venue (Marathonomachon 8, Athens) and will also be broadcast online on the organization’s channels. The conference is the flagship event of FairLife L.C.C.’s November activities for Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

The 5th hybrid Conference of FairLife L.C.C. continues the organization’s long-standing tradition of promoting information and awareness about lung cancer. This year’s conference focuses on the journey from prevention to holistic care, integrating scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and patients’ needs.

Insights into challenges

The aim of the conference is to provide insight into current challenges, as well as to present solutions and recommendations across key areas, including prevention and early detection, screening, research and innovation, diagnostic tools and dilemmas, early-stage and metastatic lung cancer, small-cell lung cancer, and the continuum from diagnosis to care.

The 5th FairLife L.C.C. Conference is addressed to individuals affected by lung cancer, their families and caregivers, healthcare professionals, scientific organizations, medical students, policymakers, stakeholders, and the wide public.

The conference will be moderated by journalist Elena Papadimitriou.

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided (Greek-English).

Latest advances in lung cancer detection and care

Over 60 speakers and commentators will take part in the conference, representing organizations from the scientific, academic, and research communities both in Greece and internationally. The event will also host representatives of the Church of Greece and the Hellenic State, alongside patient organizations and pharmaceutical industry leaders.

Participants will present the latest advances in lung cancer prevention and early diagnosis, highlighting the critical role of screening programs and public awareness. The economic, scientific, and societal aspects of implementing prevention strategies will be explored, and the outcomes of research initiatives and innovative projects will be shared.

Discussions will also cover the use of artificial intelligence and digital tools in diagnosis, as well as the opportunities for clinical trials and translational research in Greece. Special attention will be given to interdisciplinary collaboration for optimizing patient care, therapeutic approaches for early and metastatic lung cancer, and holistic patient support, including prevention, nutrition, exercise, and psychosocial empowerment.

The conference’s introductory session will host Konstantinos N. Syrigos, MD, PhD, FCCP, Professor & Director, School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, President of the Hellenic Society for Lung Cancer (HeALC), who will discuss lung cancer as a major public health challenge.
